Assessment of Child Progress
The Baby Vine uses developmentally appropriate assessments for each child in order to best support their individual learning path. These tools track each child’s individual growth and allow the child care providers to appropriately plan activities for each child, as well as for a collective group. Assessments are shared with families at their conferences, at which time provider and families decide together a plan for continued growth and learning for their child. All assessments remain confidential and are only shared with parents/guardians. If the information is shared with a local professional or other organization, written permission is necessary from the parent/guardian.
Assessment and authentic observations are integral parts of The Baby Vine’s early childhood program and are used in a variety of ways to support lifetime preparedness and preschool readiness for the child and family receiving care. They are used to support growth and development, identify special learning needs, to monitor and evaluate The Baby Vine’s child care program, and for Parent Aware/accreditation accountability. Assessments relate closely to the goals and objectives of the curriculums' implemented and are age/developmental stage appropriate to the individual child being cared for and assessed.

Formal assessments are completed semi-annually. All results are shared with parents/guardians at conferences in order to best support the child receiving care and their individualized learning path.
