Next Step Readiness

Ready, Set, Learn!

Picture

Our multi-curriculum approach focuses on play-based methods and develops preschool readiness skills while nurturing the child in all developmental domains; specifically: cognitive, physical, social, and emotional. As providers, we role model and teach important life skills to support the whole child and their individualized care. The Baby Vine is committed to helping its infants and toddlers understand the importance of kindness, empathy, sharing, conflict resolution, awareness of self and others, responsibility, and patience. Together, both provider and children cultivate healthy and positive practices in a developmentally appropriate environment.

The first few years of life are critical to a child’s lifelong development. Young children’s earliest experience and environment set the stage for future growth and success both in school and in life. Early experience influences brain development, establishing the neural connections that provide the foundation for language, reasoning, problem solving, social skills, behavior and emotional health. Therefore, it is of utmost importance we prepare and develop our children’s potential and ability to learn during this influential phase. A child’s readiness for preschool is multi-faceted, encompassing the whole range of physical, social, emotional, language and cognitive skills children need to thrive. Preschool readiness is a measure of how prepared a child is to succeed in next steps cognitively, socially and emotionally. It also implies the child has reached a certain stage in their development where formal education will be advantageous to the child. Knowledge of the child’s strengths, opportunities, and challenges when they enter preschool can be beneficial for understanding the academic performance of the child throughout their academic career. This knowledge may also be utilized to create strategies to facilitate more effective learning for the child.

Investing In Children's Natural Curiosity

Picture

Our structured activities build up each child's confidence, natural curiosity, and cultivates their disposition to explore and discover the world around them. Specific teaching strategies are utilized by the providers to determine children's varying areas of interest, and guide them through interactive learning processes. Children are active participants in their own education, and the value is placed on the process not necessarily the outcome. Seeing themselves as active participants in their learning empowers children to continue these practices throughout their educational journey.
